Our Team
The founders of Labspace Directory, David Klein and Elijah Hodges, provide decades of life science experience for your company’s space search. Time and timing are both important. The Time to locate the right lab space among the myriad of market choices and critical path. The Timing with the right execution team to get your lab up and running. We have assisted institutional and start-up lab operators nationally and internationally with their life science projects.
We offer a full suite of services across brokerage, integrated solutions, and construction. With dedicated specialty groups in each area, our teams collaborate to ensure clients receive the most current market insights and tech-enabled strategies - customized to each region we serve.
David Klein

David has a core competency in real estate through sale and lease transactions nationally and internationally for companies including. Roche, Prothena, Boehringer Ingelheim, Shockware Medical, Apple, and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Oakland. His background as a transactional real estate attorney provides clients with a unique depth of experience. David is a LEED Accredited Professional for Commercial Interiors (CI), a member of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors with a dual office and industrial designation, and has a CoreNet Master of Corporate Real Estate certification.
Prior to joining Lee & Associates – San Francisco, David was Senior Vice President Occupancy Advisory at Transwestern, Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield, Senior Vice President at DTZ, and a Partner at Cassidy Turley BT Commercial, where he was a BT Commercial Top 25 Producer in 2003, 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2010. David was also the recipient of SIOR’s Largest R&D Lease for 2017 & 2018.

Elijah Hodges
Elijah is a qualified broker, specializing in sales, leases, and sublease transactions across San Francisco and the greater Bay Area. With a strong background in market analysis and transaction management, he provides clients with data-driven insights and tailored strategies to meet their real estate goals.
Before advancing to his current role, Elijah began his career at Lee & Associates as an Analyst, where he developed a deep understanding of the commercial real estate market and refined his ability to evaluate opportunities for clients. His experience spans multiple asset types and transaction structures, giving him the versatility to navigate complex deals with clarity and precision.
Elijah earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from San Diego State University. His strong analytical foundation, combined with excellent communication skills, allows him to stay ahead of market trends and deliver value to clients throughout every stage of the transaction process.
